Great, the system is up... How does it work?
Most integrators are content to design a system, configure it, hand you the manufacturer provided guides, and walk away. Their hope is to create a situation where you'll be completely dependent on them when you need to make modifications or improvements. That's one way to go...
Excedo Solutions has a different approach... We're of the opinion that the system documentation is just as much a part of the operating environment as the components themselves, and unlike most technologists, our people can write.
When we engage on a project, we can provide:
Requirements Documents – A concise document detailing the goals of the system, the functional requirements of the system, and the technical requirements that will ensure a successful system design
System Design Documents – An architectural document that maps functional and technical requirements to specific component types, and the methods for integrating these components into a comprehensive system design
Detailed Design Documents – A granular design document, mapping the component types specified in the system design to specific products, detailing at the wire and address level, the component integration, and the configuration objectives for each device
System Build Documents – The as-built documentation, compiled during and after the system is installed and configured, complete with finalized device configuration details
System Operation Manuals – The keys to the system, geared toward the operations staff – Things to monitor, how to make routine changes, and when to call for help
In addition, we like to turn this compendium of information into something useful, and can help put it into an online, accessible format, like a Wiki. We don't want you call us because you're not sure how to drive it... We want you to call us to help meet your next challenge.
